 The Charentais distils slowly and full of aroma! This type of still is traditionally used in the Charente in France (around the city of Cognac) for distilling the famous and unique Cognac.

A registration-free hobby still made of stainless steel. With this beautiful distillery you can produce hydrolates, essential oils and distilled water.
In Austria or Switzerland, you can also use this still legally as a classic potstill with helmet for making a brandy. Or you can fill the helmet's aroma basket with fruits or herbs to create a delicious spirit.
Easy to use:

  • Fill approx. 1.5 liters of distilled water into the boiler,

  • fill the half-closed and raised aroma basket with fresh herbs or flowers, or with drugs and place in the cauldron,

  • Seal as described below,

  • Put on helmet 2. with distillation module 3. and tighten tension locks 1.1,

  • Screw the water hoses to the radiator, connect one end (3.4) to a submersible pump (eg aquarium pump), and the other end (3.5) into a cooling water reservoir.

  • Switch on the heat source and collect the hydrolate and oil at 3.7,

Distil for a maximum of 30 minutes over medium heat. After 15 minutes, the original should be changed for the first time, the amount of oil assessed and the ph value determined.
The distilling pot and all distillate pipes are made of stainless steel.

Pour 1.7 liters of distilled water into the kettle, • put on the drug basket • fill with herbs or drugs, do not compress, • insert gasket as described below, • put on cover 3. and tighten tension locks 1.1, • insert the distillation bridge 4 into the socket 3.1, • Screw the water hoses to the radiator, connect one end (4.4) to a submersible pump (eg aquarium pump), and the other end (4.5) into the cooling water reservoir. • switch on the heat source and collect at 4.6 hydrolate and oil, • Distill for a maximum of 30 minutes at medium to high heat. The distilling pot and all distillate pipelines are made of stainless steel. The socket for the distillation bridge is made of gunmetal.
The DILLILLIERMEISTER Hobby-E2 is easy to handle. It is ready to use in a few simple steps. For heating, place the distillery on an induction plate. For cooling you need a pot, bucket or bowl of cold water - 10 liters should be enough. With a simple, low-power pump (such as aquarium pump), you can direct water from the reservoir to port 4.4. The hot water leaves the cooling above 4.5. They redirect it back to their water container. Since the cooler is amply sized for its task, a small water flow is sufficient for the cooling.

The report-free DESTILLIERMEISTER E2 - 55 Premium Plus Model 2023 has been revised again. The stand is now manufactured in such a way that the kettle can be removed from the system to refill it with plants or water and the cooling system with riser pipe and lid remains standing. Working will therefore become faster and therefore more economical. The next distillation can start within a few minutes.

Everything else had already been improved in the 2022 model. The pre-condenser for the pressure loss-free transition to liquefy the steam into the cooler has been designed to be longer and bent. The distillate cooler is now designed in a winding shape instead of the bulky Liebig cooler and is still longer. This means that the entire system is significantly more compact and the cooling water consumption has been significantly reduced thanks to the overall longer cooling length. The kettle has the legally permitted bubble size of 2 liters, but the plant tube has a total volume of a whopping 5.5 liters. This makes it probably one of the largest legal and registration-free distilleries for essential oils. The riser pipe of the Premium model is insulated to minimize drip losses. This means that the premium model is optimized for the extraction of essential oils and hydrosols.
The steam is liquefied in the pre-condenser, so that the cross-sectional reduction occurs when it passes into the final cooler without any pressure loss. Note: Pressure losses in the piping system act as a pressure increase in the plant pipe, so the steam has to work against a pressure mountain. This leads to hydrosol and oil dripping back, which leads to significant losses. This also increases the temperature in the plant tube because the boiling point increases. This damages the essential oils and reduces their quality.
